Rainbows
Rainbows was founded to help children,
who have been bereaved through parental death, separation/divorce
or loss of/separation from anyone close to them. The
programme helps children work through the grieving process
which follows any significant loss.
The Rainbows Programme has been running in Scoil Chroi
Ro Naofa for the past number of years and is open to
children attending this school and other schools in
the area. It has been a very successful venture and
reports back from parents and teachers confirm a positive
improvement in Self Esteem and Confidence in the Children
who took part in the programme.
How does Rainbows help? It helps by providing a safe
setting in which children can talk through their feelings
with other children who are experiencing similar situations.
They are helped to articulate their feelings by trained
adult facilitators. Rainbows helps by providing materials;
journals, story books, games and activities which form
a structured programme to lead the children gently through
the grieving process.
If you think your child might benefit from the RAINBOWS
programme or indeed if you know of a child attending
another school who would like to take part please contact
Mary on 047 51398 before Thurs 11th Oct.
Beginning Experience
A voluntary listening and support service that helps
widowed, separated and divorced persons make a new beginning
in life by dealing with their grief. The service is
provided by a voluntary team of trained facilitators
who themselves experienced similar loss and pain. They
have experienced the journey through grief towards a
new beginning. The programme is run over a number of
weeks where team members share with participants their
own personal experience of grief. Afterwards the participants
and team members break into small groups for discussion
and sharing.
Beginning Experience was founded in the USA in 1974
and was established in Ireland in 1986. Although rooted
in the Catholic church, it continues to be open to persons
of all denominations.
The next Coping Programme begins on Wed 10th October
@ 8pm in the Farnham Hotel, Cavan. For further details

Love
Yourself
We need to love ourselves. Accept yourself - love yourself
as you are, not as you might have been or might be.
Be kind to yourself and you will be kind to others:
let others be kind to you and you’ll be kind to
yourself. Allow others be compassionate to you and you
will look on yourself with love - and that’s how
God looks on you.
