Sunday 9th March 2008
Fifth Sunday of Lent
REFLECTION
The miracle of Lazarus’ resurrection
from the dead which we read about in the Gospel for
this Sunday, prepares us for Jesus’ resurrection
on Easter Sunday morning. It is also a sign that points
to what we have undergone in baptism where we died to
sin and rose to divine life through the pouring on of
water. But it is also a sign that points to the definitive
resurrection of the just at the end of time when their
bodies will rise from this earth and be reunited with
their souls in heaven.
If you need Him,He
will be there for you.

I am the Lamb that takes away your
sin
I am the gate that guards you night and day.
Parish Forum in St Joseph’s
Hall on Mon 10th March @ 8pm
Pope
John Paul said in the Jubilee Year “We
must set about drawing up an effective post-Jubilee
pastoral plan. It is not a matter of inventing a ‘new
programme’
The programme
already exists - it is the plan found in the Gospel:
It has its centre in Christ himself, but it must be
translated into pastoral initiatives adopted to the
circumstances of each community……
It is in the
local churches that the specific features of a detailed
pastoral plan can be identified - goals and methods,
formation and enrichment of the people involved, the
search for the necessary resources.
Lent is an opportune
time to reflect on parish. Fr Duffy invites all parishioners
to a one hour meeting in St Joseph’s Hall on Mon
10th March @ 8pm when he will listen to parishioners
experiences and hopes. There will also be a short presentation
looking at the larger picture, Clones a parish of Clogher
