Bishop’s Audit ‘08

On Tues Nov 4th Bishop Joseph Duffy met groups from Clones, Currin-Killeevan & Aghabog Parishes. The purpose of the meeting was to encourage awareness among people of the needs of their parish with a view to planning for the future when the services of priests in all parishes will be much more limited than at present. In preparation for the meeting the Clones Parish group met a number of times to formulate responses to such issues as: role of the Parish Finance & Property Committee, Catholic ethos in schools, Sunday Liturgy, Training & Formation of Eucharistic Ministers, Readers & Altar Servers. In the event of the unplanned absence of a priest, who makes arrangements for funerals, weddings ect.

We thank the Clones members: Alphonsus Scarlett, Sean Slowey, Leona McPhillips, Pascal Manley, Majella McCabe, Michael Hannon, Eilish Hamill, Lorraine Fitzsimmons, Mary Courtney, Eugene McCaughey, Larry Butler & Majella Beggan

November Envelopes

November Envelopes for the Dead are still available in all the churches. Please return them as soon as possible to the boxes provided in the churches so that they can be placed on the altar for Masses during the month of November.

Into your hands, O God, we entrust those who have died
In this life, you embraced them with tender love;
Deliver them now from every evil and bid them enter eternal life.
The old way has passed away; so welcome them into heaven
Where there is no more sorrow, no more pain,
but only the fullness of peace and joy with your Son
And the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
