Reflection
The story of the ten lepers in this
Sunday’s Gospel has a very obvious lesson, namely,
the importance of showing gratitude. But it has another
lesson and that is finding God through pain. Pain can
drive people away from God, or it can bring them close
to God. If this brings us closer to God, and makes us
more spiritual, it will prove to be a blessing in disguise.
It seems that of the ten lepers only one of them was
brought closer to God through his illness and recovery.
The willingness to give something back is a great sign
of gratitude. There isn’t room for bitterness
or resentment. All happy people are grateful. Ungrateful
people cannot be happy.
Canon McQuaid says “Thanks”
Dear Parishioners,
How can I thank you enough for the wonderful “Evening
of Farewell” on Sept 29th. I will never forget
it.
I thank all the people who arranged and attended the
Mass. I thank you for the magnificent painting by Claire,
for the plaque from the Town Council and for the very
generous gift of money. I thank you for your cards and
gifts. Above all I thank you for your friendship and
support. My family also wants me to thank the priests
and people of the parish for making them so welcome.
May you continue always to be people of the Mass, people
of prayer, people who travel life with the Lord.
My address is: St Michael’s College, Drumclay,
Enniskillen
BT 746 DE.
My phone No is (048) 66 340 720

Love
Yourself
We need to love ourselves. Accept yourself - love yourself
as you are, not as you might have been or might be.
Be kind to yourself and you will be kind to others:
let others be kind to you and you’ll be kind to
yourself. Allow others be compassionate to you and you
will look on yourself with love - and that’s how
God looks on you.
