15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

PRIESTS OF THE PARISH
Macartan McQuaid P.P. 047-51048

Priest on duty this week Fr McQuaid

Reflection

Be just. Be honest. Be Fair.
Scripture says “This is true holiness...to walk justly in the sight of God.”
To be just means to treat others fairly.
It means to respect them, their rights and their property.

There is no shortage of injustice in to-days world.
There are many robberies and muggings.
There is corruption and deceit.
There are many examples of paying under the minimum wage.
Many Irish have been convicted of underpaying foreign nationals.
There is failure to do an honest days work.
There is failure to pay bills.
There is tax-dodging.

All acts of injustice are acts against the law of God.
It is hypocritical to say we love God and not treat others justly.
We should each examine our consciences about our own justice.

Do not be afraid of Christ!
He takes nothing away and He gives you everything.
When we give ourselves to Him, we receive a hundredfold in return:

Pope Benedict XV1

Love Yourself
We need to love ourselves. Accept yourself - love yourself as you are, not as you might have been or might be. Be kind to yourself and you will be kind to others: let others be kind to you and you’ll be kind to yourself. Allow others be compassionate to you and you will look on yourself with love - and that’s how God looks on you.
