Duty Rota for Priests in Clones Parish

Reflection
God speaks
to us in many ways,
Altering our lives, our plans and days,
And His blessing come in many guises
That He alone in love devises,
And sorrow that we dread so much
Can bring a very healing touch-
For when we fail to heed His voice
We leave the Lord no other choice
Except to use a firm, stern hand
To make us know He’s in command-
For on the wing of loss and pain
The peace we often sought in vain
Will come to us with sweet surprise
For God is merciful and wise
And through dark hours of tribulation
God gives us time for meditation
And nothing can be counted loss
That teaches us to bear our cross.

A Standing Ovation
A preacher was
inclined to boast after he got a standing ovation for
one of his sermons. It really went to his head. But
a friend of his helped him back to reality. He said,
“There’s something odd here, isn’t
there? Jesus preached and they crucified him; you preached
and they gave you a standing ovation”.

friend, one person who is truly understanding, who takes
the trouble to listen to us as we consider a problem
can change our whole outlook on the world.
